[killer cell lectin-like receptor G1] KLRG1 is a type 2 transmembrane protein. It is an inhibitory receptor with a domain similar to that found in C-type lectins and an ITIM motif in its cytoplasmic region (Guthman et al, 1995; Hanke et al, 1998). On the cell surface of NK-cells, KLRG1 exists as a disulfide-linked homodimer (Corral et al, 2000).
In humans, KLRG1 is expressed by NK-cells and CD4(+) Alpha-Beta T-cells (~ 20 %) and CD8(+) Alpha-Beta T-cells (~ 40%) with a phenotype of effector T-cells or
