Litorin
This peptide (QQWAVGHFM), which is related to Bombesin, has been identified in skin extracts of the Australian leptodactylid frog Litoria aurea (Green and golden bell frog) (Anastasi et al, 1975).
Endean et al (1975) have reported that Litorin is more potent than bombesin on isolated smooth muscle preparations and on the urinary bladder in situ. It is less potent on dog systemic blood pressure and kidney vasculature activation of the renin-angiotensin system. Gastrin release, acid secretion, and pancreatic secretion elicited by litorin is more rapid in onset but less intense and less sustained than that elicited by bombesin
