Ly5

[lymphocyte antigen 5] Murine Ly5 is the murine counterpart of human CD45. The complete exon-intron organization of the murine Ly5 gene has been described by Saga et al (1988).

Note on nomenclature for the mouse antigen

The terms Ly5.1 refers to an allele described originally in C57BL/6 mice as a T-cell antigen; Ly5.2 refers to the allele in SJL mice (Komura et al, 1975). The designations Ly5a refer to the C57BL/6 mouse allele, and Ly5b refers to the SJL ... ... ... ...
