MuSC

This murine protein has been identified by Sekine-Aizawa et al (1989). The protein is detected by hamster monoclonal antibody 802C11 in neurons of the 8th cranial ganglion (hearing and equilibrium) but not in the 5th cranial ganglion (somatosensory) or spinal ganglia of the mouse embryo. The sequence of the protein derived from its cDNA clone shows that this protein is related to chicken SC-1. In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD166.

For additional information on CD antigens see also: CD antigens Dictionary.
