[programmed cell death-9] PDCD9 is the mammalian counterpart of the Gallus gallus pro-apoptotic protein p52 (Carim et al, 1999). The protein sequences of chicken, mouse, and human PDCD9 are remarkably conserved. The human cDNA encodes a protein of 438 amino acids. PDCD9 mRNA is expressed ubiquitously in adult tissues.
