[roundabout-2; roundabout homolog 2] The human robo-2 protein (1,380 amino acids; 56 % identity with robo-1) is a member of the subfamily of immunoglobulin superfamily proteins that is highly conserved from fruit flies (see: robo) to mammals (Kidd et al, 1998). Robo-2a and Robo-2b are two splice variants of human and murine robo-2 that encode proteins with different N termini and signal peptides. Robo-2b is expressed widely except in skeletal muscle, whereasRobo-2a shows a more restricted expression pattern (Yue et al, 2006). More murine splice variants have been described by Yue et al (2006).
