[S100 calcium binding protein A15] In some publications the term Koebnerisin is being used as a synonym. It was identified first in inflamed psoriatic skin (Wolf et al, 2003) (originally termed NICE-2 [newly identified cDNA from the EDC), is expressed in keratinocytes (Wolf et al, 2006, 2007), and it appears to play a role in the Koebner phenomenon, the formation of psoriatic lesions in uninvolved skin of psoriatic patients after cutaneous trauma (Sagi and Trau, 2011). Büchau et al (2007) have reported that S100A15 shows antimicrobial activity against Escherichia coli and its expression is induced in Keratinocytes together with IL8 upon exposure to Escherichia coli
