[Stromal cell-derived factor-1-phi] a splice isoform of SDF-1 (see: SDF). It shares the same first three exons with other identified splice isoforms (SDF-1-gamma, SDF-1-delta, SDF-1-epsilon), but contains a unique fourth exon not found in the other isoforms. SDF-1-phi can stimulate cell migration by acting through the CXCR4 receptor (Yu et al, 2006). This isoform is being referred to also as SDF-1-theta [Stromal cell-derived factor-1-theta] in some databanks
