[soluble resistance-related calcium-binding protein] approved gene symbol: SRI. abbr. SCN. Sorcin is a 22 kDa calcium-binding protein designated originally V19 or CP22 (Sugimoto et al, accession number AAA60588). V19 codes for a small phosphorylated, cytosolic protein with substantial homology with the light chain of calpain (Van der Bliek et al, 1986).
