TCSF

[tumor cell-derived collagenase stimulatory factor] This factor of 58 kDa is produced by the human lung carcinoma cell line LX-1. It stimulates the production of interstitial collagenase in fibroblasts. TCSF has been shown to be identical with EMMPRIN (extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer), which itself is identical with several other proteins of previously undetermined function (see also: Basigin) (Biswas et al, 1995).
