[WD repeat domain 26; WD repeat-containing protein 26] This protein, which contains several WD40 domains, has been identified by Zhu et al (2004). The protein is highly conserved in evolution across different species from yeast, Drosophila, mouse, to human. WDR26 is expressed in most human tissues examined, and expression is especially high in skeletal muscle. The protein may be involved in negatively regulating mitogen-activated protein kinases. Higa et al (2006) have identified the protein as CDW2 [CUL4-and DDB1-associated WDR protein 2]. CDW2 interacts with CUL4-DDB1 ubiquitin
