diptericins

Diptericins constitute a family of related antibacterial proteins of about 82 amino acids (diptericin A, diptericin B, diptericin C) from immunized larvae of the dipteran Phormia terranovae. Diptericin is expressed also in Drosophila melanogaster (Diptericin: gene CG12763; Diptericin B: gene CG10794) (Wicker et al, 1990; Reichhart et al, 1992), Sarcophaga peregrina (flesh fly) (Ishikawa et al, 1992), Hessian fly (Mayetiola destructor) (Mittapali et al, 2006). Drosophila melanogaster Diptericin has been identified as DIM-27 [Drosophila Immune-induced Molecule 27]; IM27 ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
