[Amphiregulin-associated protein] This protein has been found in the conditioned medium of MCF-7 human breast carcinoma cells treated with 12-O-tetradecanoyl-phorbol-13-acetate and identified as a heparin binding protein of approximately 15.5 kDa (Shoyab et al, 1991). The amino acid sequence shows that the protein is identical to midkine.
