[Angiotensin-converting enzyme] Ance, called also Race (Tatei et al, 1995), is the Drosophila melanogaster ortholog of ACE [angiotensin-1 converting enzyme], encoded by gene CG8827 (Cornell et al, 1993, 1995). The enzyme converts angiotensin-1 to angiotensin-2, removes Phe-Arg from the C-terminus of bradykinin, and is inhibited by ACE inhibitors captopril and trandolaprilat.
