abbr. ATX. A 125 kDa factor (915 amino acids) found in the conditioned medium of human A2058 melanoma cells (Stracke et al, 1995). Black et al (2004) have reported that Autotaxin is one of the genes the expression of which is upregulated approximately 100-fold after transformation of chick embryo fibroblasts.
