[B-cell translocation gene-1; BTG family member 1] This human gene is a member of the evolutionarily conserved BTG protein family with antiproliferative activity (Rouault et al, 1993).
The protein has antiproliferative functions and also stimulates cell differentiation.
Kamaid A Giráldez (2008) have reported BTG1 expression patterns in avian embryos from embryonic day 1 to 3.
