Betaglycan

The protein has received the approved gene symbol TGFBR3 [transforming growth factor-beta receptor 3; TGF-beta receptor 3; TGF-beta receptor type 3]. Abbr. also TGFR3. Abbr. also: TbetaRIII or TbetaR3.

Betaglycan is a proteoglycan protein component of the extracellular matrix (Andres et al, 1989). Betaglycan binds TGF-beta and exists in both a membrane-bound and a soluble form (López-Casillas et al, 1991; Johnson et al, 1995).
