referred to also as CSK peptide. This peptide has been identified by Kang et al in a phage display screen. The peptide has been shown to facilitate the efficient transport of macromolecules such as M13 bacteriophage across the intestinal mucosal barrier. The peptide is a homing peptide for goblet cells, which are thought to express a receptor for this peptide.
Jin et al (2012) have reported that nanoparticles modified with CSK peptide can be used for oral delivery of insulin to produce a hypoglycemic effect.
Fan et al (2014) have used solid lipid nanoparticles modified with CSK peptide to enhance bioavailability after oral delivery of salmon calcitonin.
