CyCAP
[Cyclophilin C-associated protein] The cDNA for this glycoprotein has been cloned by Friedman et al, 1993. The protein binds with high affinity to cyclophilin C in the absence, but not the presence, of cyclosporin A. The cDNA has been cloned also from murine macrophages by Chicheportiche and Vassalli (1994), who have reported that expression is increased very strongly by adherence and moderately by exposure to TNF-alpha and IFN-gamma.
Shimizu et al (2005) have reported expression of CyCAP in neurons of normal brains and upregulated expression in neurons microglial cells after ischemia.
