DF3

The murine monoclonal antibody designated DF3 has been prepared prepared against a human breast carcinoma metastatic to liver (Kufe et al, 1984) and defines a high molecular weight antigen detectable in human breast carcinomas and in human milk (Sekine et al, 1985; Abe and Kufe, 1987). The same protein has been identified by a monoclonal antibody recognizing MSA [mammary serum antigen]. DF3 monoclonal antibody detects the 20 amino acid sequence of the epithelial mucin MUC-1 [mucin 1] (Bara et al, 1993).

Hayes et al (1990) have suggested that the DF3 antigen acts as an immunomodulating agent and may serve to protect secretory epithelium from the cytotoxic effects of activated ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
