[eosinophil stimulating material] This biochemically uncharacterized factor has been identified in the blister fluids of patients with bullous pemphigoid. In a colony formation assay with bone marrow cells the factor supports the emergence of colonies of eosinophils and causes cell activation of eosinophils. The factor may be GM-CSF, which has been described also as Eo-CSF.
