[human Ig synthesis/secretion suppressor factor] This biochemically uncharacterized factor is secreted by thymocytes of immunized rabbits. It completely suppresses both the initiation and ongoing synthesis and secretion of the lectin (PWM) induced synthesis of IgM and IgG immunoglobulins by circulating B-lymphocytes of normal humans.

The same effect is observed in patients with rheumatoid arthritis or systemic lupus erythematosus. The suppressor factor is not HLA restricted in its activity and is not cytotoxic to circulating human B-cells, T-cells, Null cells and monocytes. T-cells ... ... ... ... ...
