Hermes antigen

This antigen is detected by monoclonal antibody Hermes-1. The antigen has been referred to also as gp90Hermes, for which Goldstein et al (1989) cloned the cDNA. The antibody specifically recognizes a lymphoid cell surface glycoprotein involved in endothelial cell recognition and lymphocyte homing (Jalkanen et al, 1986). Gallatin et al (1989) have reported that Hermes-1 recognizes the same antigen as monoclonal antibody HUTCH-1. Picker et al (1989) have reported that the antigen is CD44.
