[interleukin-37] This term has been proposed as a synonym for IL1F7 [Interleukin-1 family member 7] (Dinarello et al, 2010). For bioactivities see: IL1H4 [IL1 homolog-4].
Alternative splicing of the human IL1F7 (IL37) gene results in the expression of five different isoforms. Some of these isoforms have been described under various names as members of the IL1 family of cytokines, often without specific reference to a variant splice isoforms (for a discussion see: Boraschi et al, 2011).
