IRH

[intercrine reduced in hepatomas] This factor was identified as a mRNA the expression of which was reduced in differential displays from human hepatocellular carcinoma (Shibuta et al, 1997). IRH is equivalent to one of the Alpha-Chemokines, SDF-1-alpha (PBSF). The approved gene symbol is CXCL12. The factor is known also as SCYB12. Numerous splice variants exist (see: CXCL12 and SDF also describing alternative nomenclature).

Expression of IRH has been found to be reduced in the majority of gastrointestinal tumors.
