[myeloid-associated immunoglobulin-like receptor III] This receptor is a member of a larger family of activating and inhibitory receptors (Shibuya et al, 2009) (see also: MAIR-I, MAIR-II, MAIR-IV, MAIR-V, MAIR-VI, MAIR-VII, MAIR-VIII, MAIR-IX). The MAIR family is a murine counterpart of the human CMRF35 family and thus is equivalent to the CD300 family.
The protein has been described independently as CLM6 [CMRF35-like molecule-6].
