MFR

[macrophage fusion receptor] MFR has been identified as a macrophage surface protein the expression of which is highly induced, transient, and specific in the sense that it is restricted to actively fusing macrophages in vitro and in vivo. The protein is recognized by monoclonal antibodies that block macrophage fusion (Saginario et al, 1995). Saginario et al (1998) have purified this protein and cloned its corresponding cDNA. MFR is a highly glycosylated transmembrane glycoprotein that consists of a core protein of approximately 60 kDa. The protein contains three immunoglobulin-like domains in the extracellular region and also contains four putative tyrosine phosphorylation sites as well as two ITIM [immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif ... ... ... ... ...
