[megakaryocyte potentiating factor] This glycoprotein factor of 32 kDa has been identified in a study of cell lines examined for their ability to promote the mergence of megakaryocyte colonies in colony formation assays. Six human tumor cell lines, including the human pancreatic cancer cell line HPC-Y5, secrete this activity into the conditioned medium.
