[prolactin-binding protein] This human serum protein of 32 kDa has been identified through co-immunoprecipitation, using antibodies generated against human prolactin and the extracellular domain of the human prolactin receptor (Kline et al, 2001). The protein corresponds to most of the extracellular domain of the prolactin receptors.
Lower levels of the protein are found also in human milk. The protein binds prolactin and human growth hormone and has been shown to inhibit the growth-promoting effects of prolactin on Nb2 T-cells induced by
