an N-terminally truncated form (residues 5-73) of the human CXC-Chemokine CXCL2 (GRO-beta). The factor, also referred to as GRO-betaT or CXCL2-delta-4, has potent anti-infective and hematopoietic activities (King et al, 2000).

King et al (2000) have isolated GRO-betaT from bone marrow stromal cells treated with a synthetic immunomodulatory peptide. The factor augments the formation of CFU-GM in the presence of other colony stimulating factors. Compared with full-length CXCL2, the shortened factor is approximately 10 million times more potent as synergistic growth stimulant for CFU-GM ... ... ... ...
