STRICA
STRICA, encoded by the CG7863 gene, is one of the caspases found in Drosophila melanogaster. STRICA is a cytoplasmic caspase with a long amino-terminal prodomain that lacks any caspase recruitment domain or death effector domain. It has been identified independently as DREAM.
Overexpression of STRICA causes cell death by apoptosis in cultured Drosophila melanogaster SL2 cells that is suppressed partially by DIAP1. STRICA also associates with DIAP2.
