chrysophsins

Chrysophsin-1 (FFGWLIKGAIHAGKAIHGLIHRRRHamide),

chrysophsin-2 (FFGWLIRGAIHAGKAIHGLIHRRRHamide), and

chrysophsin-3 (FIGLLISAGKAIHDLIRRRHamide) have been isolated from the gills of red sea bream, Chrysophrys major (Pagrus major) (Iijima et al, 2003). Chrysophsins are localized in certain epithelial cells lining the surface of secondary lamellae and eosinophilic granule cell-like cells at the base of the secondary lamellae in red sea bream gills.

Chrysophsins are highly cationic peptides that display broad-spectrum bactericidal activity against Gram-negative bacteria and Gram-positive bacteria including ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
