leukosialin
This protein has been purified as a major sialoglycoprotein (previously called gp105 and designated leukosialin by the authors) on the human erythroleukemic cell line K562 (Carlsson and Fukuda, 1986). The protein has been shown to be present on different hematopoietic cell lines (erythroid cells, myeloid cells, T-cells, and B-cells) but in different glycosylated forms (Carlsson et al, 1986). The mRNA sequence has been reported by Pallant et al (1989). The structure of the human gene has been reported by Shelley et al (1990)
In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD43.
