abbr. MSC. These cells are being referred to also as bone marrow stromal cells (abbr. BMSC) or multipotent stromal cells (see also: stromal cells) or multipotent mesenchymal stromal cells or simply mesenchymal stromal cells (Brinchmann, 2008). Loncaric D et al (2019) have pointed out that majority (∼ 60 %) of so-called mesenchymal stem cells are not multipotent and thus do not represent a stem cell entity.
