Tetrastatin is a cryptic peptide identical with the globular C-terminal non-collagenous NC1 domain [collagen-4-alpha-4 NC1 domain; abbr. also: alpha4(IV)NC1] of collagen-4-alpha-4 and corresponds to COL4A4(1465-1690) (Brassart-Pasco et al, 2012) (called also collagen of basement membrane alpha-4 chain; approved gene symbol: COL4A4.
