35.1

35.1 is an IgG2a monoclonal antibody that recognizes an epitope on Tp50, a human T-lymphocyte surface protein associated with the E-rosette receptor (erythrocyte rosette receptor) (Martin et al, 1983), which has been identified as CD2 (Anonymous, 1984; Bernard et al, 1984). The antibody inhibits T-cell proliferative responses, and inhibits cytotoxic T-cell function without affecting cells that mediate antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity. 35.1 does not E rosette formation and lysis of cells mediated by NK-cells.
