[a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain 34; ADAM metallopeptidase domain 34] Brachvogel et al (2002) have cloned the gene for ADAM34, which they call testase 4. Strong expression of this protease is observed in the adult testis (maturing sperm cells), but not in any other organ or embryonic stage tested. Baker et al (2008) have identified ADAM34 in the rat sperm proteome.
In databanks the mouse ADAM34 gene is found also as Testase-7, referring to a gene termed Gm5347. Another databank synonym is also ADAM37 [
