[AU RNA binding protein/enoyl-CoA hydratase; AU-binding protein/enoyl-CoA hydratase, AU-specific RNA-binding enoyl-CoA hydratase] This RNA-binding protein has been identified by Nakagawa et al (1995), using a matrix of AUUUA similar to the AU-rich elements found in the 3-prime untranslated region of many short-lived mRNAs. In vitro, the recombinant protein binds specifically to AU-rich transcripts, including those for IL3, GM-CSF, fos, and myc.
