Casper
[caspase eight-related protein; Caspase-8 related protein] Casper is a protein of 55 kDa that has sequence similarity to Caspase-8 throughout its length but does not possess activities of caspases (Shu et al, 1997). Casper has been shown to interact with various proteins involved in signaling cell death by apoptosis, including FADD, Caspase-8 (see: FLICE), Caspase-3 (see: CPP32), TRAF1, and TRAF2 (see: TRAF).
