a truncated isoform of HGF (hepatocyte growth factor = scatter factor) composed of the amino terminus and first and second kringle domain (Lokker and Godowski, 1993).
NK2 is a naturally occurring splice variant of HGF that also acts through the HGF receptor, met. Otsuka et al (2000) have reported that NK2 antagonizes growth but facilitates metastasis.
