HGF-like protein

[Hepatocyte growth factor-like protein] abbr. HLP, HGFL, HGFLP. A cDNA encoding this protein has been isolated from a human liver cDNA library. It shows approximately 50 % identity with HGF (hepatocyte growth factor) and possesses an identical protein domain composition as hepatocyte growth factor, including the presence of kringle domains. A cDNA from Xenopus laevis, designated Xhl, and HGF-like protein are homologous.
