IG20
[Insulinoma-Glucagonoma clone 20] The cDNA encoding this protein has been isolated by AL-Zoubi et al (2001). A splice variant has been described independently as DENN (DENN-SV). Efimova et al (2004) have identified seven putative splice variants of the human IG20 gene. Four variants (IG20, MADD, IG20-SV2, and DENN-SV) are expressed in human tissues. While DENN-SV is expressed constitutively in all tissues, expression of IG20 appears to be regulated. IG20 has been identified independently as KIAA0358.
Expression of IG20 in HeLa cells renders these cells more susceptible to cell death by apoptisis induced by TNF-alpha
