[interleukin-35] IL35 is a heterodimeric protein consisting of the EBI-3 [EBV induced gene-3] and IL12-p35, the p35 subunit of IL12 (Niedbala et al, 2007; Collison et al, 2007).
Role as anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive cytokine
IL-35 is an immunosuppressive cytokine expressed by regulatory T-cells (Zongyi et al, 2017), regulatory B-cells (Shen et al, 2014; Wang RX et al, 2014), as well as tolerogenic dendritic cells (Dixon et al, 2015).
