[Killer cell lectin-like receptor subfamily F member 2] also short: Lectin-like receptor F2. This C-type lectin-like receptor has been described also as Activating co-receptor NKp65 [Natural killer cell p65-related protein]. It is a non–disulfide-linked homodimeric protein distantly related to NKp80 (KLRF1). The receptor mediates cytotoxicity and cytokine secretion (IFN-gamma) in NK-cells via its interaction with CLEC2A, for which KLRF2 acts as a high affinity receptor. Human peripheral blood NK-cells contain only low levels of KLRF2 transcripts, and KLRF2 is barely expressed on blood NK-cells
