this undifferentiated human non-Hodgkin's lymphoma B-cell line has been established from pleural effusions of a patient with undifferentiated lymphoma. The cells are EBNA(-). They express surface IgM Lambda and secrete pentameric IgM, which does not bind to protein A. The cells do not appear to express complement receptors and Fc receptors.
The conditioned medium of these cells contain a B-cell growth factor (BCGF), designated BCGF-12kD (Kumar et al, 1990). This factor is identical with BCGF-1 and is identical with IL4. Neutralising monoclonal antibodies against a BCGF-12kD synthetic peptide
