[macrophage inflammatory protein] Two murine MIP proteins, designated MIP-1 and MIP-2 have been described.

MIP-1 is an acidic protein. The two variants, designated MIP-1-alpha and MIP-1-beta have a length of 69 amino acids (7.8 kDa). At the protein level they show a homology of 60 %. Their cDNAs show a homology of 57 %. The cDNA sequences of MIP-alpha and MIP-beta demonstrate that they are the murine homologs of human GRO-beta and GRO-gamma (see: MGSA, melanoma growth stimulatory activity). For a ... ... ... ... ...
