MSFI

[migration stimulating factor inhibitor] MSFI has been identified in the conditioned medium of early passage keratinocytes or a keratinocyte line (HaCaT) (Jones et al, 2007). MSFI has been identified as lipocalin-2.

MSFI inhibits the activity of Migration stimulating factor (MSF), a potent autocrine and paracrine factor expressed by fibroblasts and epithelial cells in foetal skin, tumors and healing wounds, but not in normal adult fibroblasts or keratinocytes.
