also: RPM peptide. This peptide, CPIEDRPMC, has been identified as a tumor-targeting peptide by phage display library screening of poorly differentiated colon carcinoma cells (HT29 cells). The peptide binds to HT29 cells and also shows binding to other colon cancer cell lines: CaCo-2, RKO, SW480, and DLD-1. The peptide also shows binding to colon tumor tissues from four patients but not to normal colon tissue and non-colon tissues including the lungs, liver, and stomach. A fusion peptide of RPMrel peptide with the mitochondrial toxin KLAKLAK kills HT29 cells.
