SEMA6D

[Semaphorin 6D] Murine Sema6D belongs to the family of semaphorins. It exists in five different splice variants. It is expressed mainly in the brain and lung. Tissues show differential expression of certain splice variants. Ubiquitous expression in the brain continues from embryonic late stage to adulthood.

Toyofuku et al (2004) have reported that Sema6D plays a critical role in cardiac morphogenesis. The major receptor for SEMA6D is Plexin-A1 and SEMA6D cooperates with the VEGF receptor VEGFR2 (Toyofuku et al, 2004).

Qu et al (2002) have reported that human SEMA6D is expressed abundantly in kidney, brain, and placenta and moderately in the heart and skeletal muscles. SEMA6D inhibits axonal extension of PC12 cells ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
