STK4

(approved gene symbol) [serine/threonine kinase 4] is being referred to also as MST-1 [Mammalian sterile 20-like 1; STE20-like protein kinase 1] (Creasy and Chernoff, 1995). Taylor et al (1996) have referred to STK4 as KRS2 [Kinase responsive to stress-2], a protein kinase that is activated by some stress conditions but not by common mitogenic stimuli. A databank synonym for this kinase is YSK3 [Yeast Sps1/Ste20-related Kinase 3], referring to a partical cDNA cloned by Osada et al (1997).
